  • Group studio visits led by Turps mentors to other participants studios*

  • Opportunities to initiate Peer led mentoring and network connections

  • Group Crits and seminars held at Turps Studios, providing an opportunity to discuss work out of the studio environment.**

  • Gallery visits and talks in London and beyond*

  • An opportunity to attend a minimum of twelve artist talks at Turps studios across the year.*

Fees for 2024/25 are £3,000. To apply click here.

Application Deadline: Sunday 14th April 2024 (midnight).

  • * Covid-19: In response to the current and potential future restrictions on movement and social distancing we have been working hard with our current participants to adapt all our programmes to deliver meaningful content, mentoring, crits and seminars via the Turps Virtual Art School. We will continue to develop these projects so that should we need to implement in the coming months we have the structures in place to do so.

**Geography: Your studio should be in London and be within approximately one hour travelling distance (using public transport) from Turps Studios. If you are concerned about where your studio is and if it will be logistically possible to include you in the programme please contact us BEFORE you apply and we can advise. Turps Off Site Programme is an alternative learning platform, not an accredited educational qualification programme. It is an opportunity for painters who are experienced in their practice to further their exploration of the media and re-energize that practice through intense work ethic, and critical response from practising artists and their peers within a supportive structure.

As such, participants on the programme are not formally recognized as students and will not be eligible for any concessionary rates normally afforded to higher or further education students. We do however work with various art supplies companies such as Jacksons to secure discounts. Turps Art School has been recognised by a number of Arts Prizes such as the New Contemporaries as an Alternative Learning Platform and painters and recent leavers are qualified to apply.

The mentoring/talks timetable will be programmed around a standard academic timetable. Exact dates will be published ahead of the course start date.
