TURPS Spring, Summer & Autumn INTENSIVES

*Applications for AUTUMN INTENSIVE 2026 are open until 30th June*

'Building on the overwhelming success of our recent Turps Residency and Turps Summer School, we are excited to announce a series of TURPS INTENSIVES – short intensive courses at Turps Studios in south east London taking place in the Spring, Summer and Autumn Terms. The same principles and ethos that drive the respected one-year Turps Studio Programme have been tailored for those with limited time availability who are perhaps not usually based in London, or unable to relocate or commit for a full academic year.'

Turps Intensives are a new opportunity for up to 20 painters to work alongside each other at Turps Studios. Painters will receive 1-2-1 mentoring and feedback, group crits, painting-focused talks, organised gallery visits, and workshops. The programme will culminate in an exhibition at Turps Studios.

Accommodation: Overseas and out-of-London applicants are expected to organise their own accommodation during the course. Recently we launched ARTnest, a brand new scheme, providing course participants with a database of potential short-term accommodation for the duration of the course, within the homes of the wider Turps painting network. We aim for this accommodation to be affordable and conveniently located within easy reach of the studios. Please note this is a new initiative of informally connecting artists and hosts and we can’t guarantee finding appropriate accommodation. Please investigate all alternative options when applying.
